Here is an exercise that I found to be helpful to loose your double chin.

Open your mouth as wide as you possibly can.Now concentrate on the muscles under the chin.Begin to close your mouth while resisting the closing action.This should take 20 counts. The muscles in your neck will stand out ,looking like chords.
Continue closing your mouth ,resisting all the way until your back teeth meet.Bite down firmly and slowly relax .Very important: Do not relax the muscles for even a moment while closing the mouth.
For the best results do this double chin exercise three times in the morning and again before you go to bed.
